Wii troubles?

Are you still having a hard time trying to find the Nintendo Wii console in time for the holidays? We have a few ideas that could get you a Wii – or the next best thing – in time for Christmas.

Solution #1: To deal with frustration among holiday shoppers hunting for its Wii game console, Nintendo Co. and retailer GameStop Corp. are launching a rain check program.

The rain checks will be available at the regular Wii system price, $249.99, on Dec. 20 and 21, and will entitle buyers to get the Nintendo console before Jan. 29.

Solution #2: Ebay will always be a solution when looking to purchase something that isn’t available in stores. Literally thousands of Wii consoles are being sold on Ebay for about the regular price. Some are going up to $500; but I am sure you can find one for the regular price (maybe even less.)

See the Wii Ebay listings.

Five tips for Ebay:

  1. Before bidding on an item, make sure you read the seller’s feedback from other buyers and sellers. Sellers with a low feedback probably won’t deliver the item up for sale.

  2. Don’t bid on the first Wii listing you see. There are over 7,000 listings, I am sure you can find a good offer for one.

  3. You might be able to find a listing for a Wii bundle. A lot of the listings come with extra games and controllers.

  4. There are still a few days left ’til the cut off date to buy from eBay to get it to your door before Christmas. Read the description of the items and talk to the seller to see what you can do to get it there quickly.

  5. Beware of the shipping costs! Many buyers don’t even pay attention to the shipping costs when bidding for a product.

Solution(s) #3: Still can’t get a Wii? Try giving the money as a present instead of the actual console. Or, buy a gift card to a video game retailer for the amount of a Wii console. Or just make an “IOU a Wii” card and wrap it up.

Good luck.
