The Sims 3 Coverage Tomorrow

Do you know what tomorrow is? You can easily figure it out by looking at the title of this post.

Tomorrow, tune in right here all day to see what Electronic Arts has in store for The Sims 3.

We already know that The Sims 3 is now a ‘free-roam’ type game where you can actually walk around the neighborhood without having to call a taxi. We’ll know much more come tomorrow.

1st The Sims 3 Details

A 12-page World Exclusive First Look Preview of The Sims 3 was unveiled in the April/May ’08 issue of Games for Windows.

Some of the most interesting details (that we know of):

  • The Sims 3 is finally doing what everybody has always wanted in the series…it is now a sandbox style game. You will be able to walk around the neighborhood.
  • Everything in the game is completely integrated. If you want to go to the park, it is in the same ‘seamless space’ as your house. You no longer have to load a completely different save file in order to go somewhere besides your house.
  • As quoted from 1UP: “Individual meters indicating bladder and sleep-deprivation levels are replaced by a new system of discrete moods, the aim being to get players off the treadmill of fulfilling primal eat-sleep-pee-repeat requirements so they can focus more on, well, going out on the brand new town.”

1UP.com was very discrete about the details of the 12 page preview. If you want to learn more, you have to go out and actually read the preview (sucks right?) It should already be in subscriber’s mailboxes, and on newstands shortly.

The Sims 3 Information straight from the makers themselves is coming Wednesday, March 19th. We’ll be here all day to cover the story.
